Two times fifty! What a year! What hundred years! My husband finally joined me it the club of being half way through a century! Other than my birthday being celebrated in Germany around a huge table, his birthday did not require a table at all! We made sushi picknick! Yahoo! As I and my girls enjoyed Hawaiian poke bowls back in May, now we servred a similar food – but to be wrapped it into a sushi handroll!
With my stepchild Blake, her husband Josh, toddler Kayden and baby Zephyr the celebrating birthday”child” had his core family around him! We went to Mahalepu, a beach not so crowded, and in fact we had a secluded part of the beach all by ourselfs, it was awesome and peaceful. Hia, the dog dug a lot of holes on the beach, inbetween Kayden build her sandcastles and -houses and we enjoyed together the sunny day in half shade. We can say: we owned the beach! 😉
Familiy talk, playing with the kids, eating sushi, chocolate cake as well as muffins – time fly’s when you’re having a good time! The grandparents (Us) also took the bigger kid to a little adventure tour to a Hawaiian historic site close by, a former cave which was a indigenous dwelling centuries ago. Unfortunately the site was already closed – obviously we nibbled too long on the desert, hehe… But the walking tour through the little rainforest was really fun, Grandpa Ryan played funny monsters which were hiding and jumping out on the way there, and on the way back Grandma “Näddelie” impersonated a horsey 😉
It was a little party in a precious little group, we came home in the early evening, let the day set and wondered about the next fifty years – or shall I say: hundred!? 🙂
